About Eventie
Eventie started from a reception desk, not a whiteboard. The check-in list lived in one spreadsheet, the badge tray assignments in another, and the gala seating chart was printed and re-printed every time a VIP's plans changed. None of them talked to each other, and the person who found out first was always standing at the door.
So Eventie is one system instead of three files: the guest who checks in at reception is the same row that prints a badge and the same seat that lights up on the floorplan — in real time, for every desk working the event at once.
Check-in, badge printing, and gala seating stayed separate tools at most events we looked at — a guest list here, a seating chart there, a printer queue nobody trusts. Eventie keeps them in sync because they describe the same night.
Every screen assumes someone is standing up, holding a badge printer, with a line forming. Offline-first, keyboard-first, and fast enough to use one-handed.
A volunteer working the door for one night shouldn't need a password. A time-boxed code gets them in and back out again, automatically.
